Welcome to Cedar Penn.
Founded to acquire and lead an exceptional company.
PHILOSOPHY
Principled business is core to Ibi Ayorinde, Principal of Cedar Penn.
This means engaging founders and their families with integrity, transparency and fairness, ensuring a smooth and mutually beneficial transition.
ADMIRED BUSINESS QUALITIES
ENDURANCE
We seek businesses with roots deeply entrenched in their communities, employees, customers, and suppliers. This is only made possible by having deep understandings of workforce empowerment, client needs, product and service quality, and societal impact. Such organizations are built to continually stand the test of time.
Business longevity is rare - we admire entrepreneurs and
companies who are the exceptions.

OWNER INDEPENDENCE
Our diligence involves gauging operational stability independent of owner involvement. This requires having trusted and experienced management and personnel who are empowered to make operational decisions fairly autonomously. These practices ensure a business is ready for ownership transition..

Owner independence is key to a business's' ability to thrive well beyond its owner's tenure
1 / Institutionalized Customer Relationships

3 / Delegated Core Operations
PERFORMANCE
We believe financial performance indicates the value customers derive from a business's products and services, whether enduring advantages exist against competitors, and the sustainability of that advantage. Strong brand loyalty, operational efficiency, and prudent capital allocation are key factors to such success.

Historically consistent and strong financial performance contribute to positive long-term prospects of a business.

FOUNDER & VALUES

Prior to founding Cedar Penn, Ibi worked at Transpose Platform, a venture capital firm focused on investments in fintech and healthcare. Before Transpose, Ibi worked at JPMorgan – first in its debt capital markets investment banking franchise, then in its technology group as a Product Manager.

Throughout his corporate career, Ibi was also an entrepreneur, leading the financial and operating activities of a family-owned home health company.
Ibi is currently an MBA candidate at MIT’s Sloan School of Management, and received a B.A. from Rutgers Business School.
UPHOLDING LEGACY Prioritize brand, people, and culture preservation. If we successfully acquire a business that is great at what they do and know who they are, our objective should be to change as little as possible.
LONG TERM Think and act in decades. Upon acquisition, Ibi will relocate to your community and assume full-time, active management of the business. Cedar Penn will maintain complete ownership of your business as long pas possible - this aligns with our personal philosophy and we're structured to do so.
PRINCIPLED BUSINESS Operate in a mutually beneficial manner. This means treating each interaction and transaction such that we become the preferred partner - to our Seller, and eventual customers, employees, suppliers, and community.
HUMILITY Be humble and intellectually honest in all dealings. We executive swiftly on matters that we consider our strengths and seek guidance on those outside of our competancy.
